MYTH: Chocolate, pizza and French fries cause acne.
“FACT: The overall correlation between diet and acne is still unclear, so it’s best to use common sense. If certain foods consistently seem to make you break out, you should avoid them. for example, some people are supersensitive to foods with high iodine content such as shellfish, dried fish, and seaweed. Importantly eating healthy will always serve you well and help your body resist the effects of inflammation and stress. As we like to say, “What’s eating you may be more important than what you’re eating.” Write your skin a prescription for change.
“When I was a teen, someone told me that brewer’s yeast was good for acne because of the vitamin B in it. For the sake of clear skin, I drank a scoop of it in water every day, but it tasted horrible and caused my skin to flush. After a few months, I realized it wasn’t helping a bit. This illustrates the desperate means I was willing to take for the sake of clear skin.” Dr. Katie Rodan
